I want to wish all of my friends and readers a very Happy Mother's Day. Whether you have given birth or not, I feel that all women have been a mother figure to someone at some point in their lives. I have been enjoying my day and hope you have also.
Today's share is a card I sent to my daughter for Mother's Day. I made and mailed it last Wednesday but could not share it with you all because she is a subscriber and would have seen it before I wanted her to. The card base is by Recollections which I bought in a set at Michael's. It has a glittery effect without the glitter if you can understand that. The paper I used is kind of wild which I thought my daughter would like. I would have used Vintage paper but decided to use this because of the colors. I distressed and curled up the edges of the paper. I added one of the lollypop flowers I made and an envelope using the Stampin Up! envelope sizzix die. I cut it out using the same paper that the card was made from. I took a piece of white trim and sprayed it with Walnut Gold Glimmer Mist and attached some pearls above it. I tied some cream and gold twine around the top of the little envelope to keep it closed. I used Tim Holtz' Alcohol Ink in gold to change the color of a silver heart I also attached to the envelope. Inside of the envelope (which I didn't take a picture of) I have a little card that says "Happy Mother's Day". When I told my daughter that she could untie the twine and open the envelope to take the card out she asked me what it said and I told her only Happy Mother's Day. She then said that she wanted to leave the card like it was and would not open the envelope to make sure it stayed like I sent it. I wonder if she would have opened it if I told her that there was a $100 bill in it? :) On the inside of the card I wrote a message to her. Please enjoy the rest of your day. I sure am.
Hugs,

Your card is wonderful! I know your daughter was thrilled to get it. I love the wild paper you used, and the T!m technique of distresing and curling edges. Love the whole card!
