Hello Everyone,
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. With all the rain we had this week, it is finally beautiful outside. Today I am going to share with you a Gift Card Holder. On my last card post my daughter asked me why I did not do a photo tutorial of how I made the card. I told her that it was too late and that I would try on my next card. Well here it is. If you have any questions or if I have left out any directions please contact me. At the top of this post is a picture of the finished card holder. Below are the instructions and pictures as I made the card.

On the picture above I used our new Crushed Curry Card Stock for the base of the holder. This piece was cut at 7 5/8 X 4 3/4 inches. I then cut a piece of Designer Series Paper called "Tall Tales" at 4 X 1 1/8 inches. Next I cut another piece of Old Olive at 3 3/8 X 2 inches, Crushed Curry at 3 1/8 X 1 3/4 inches and a piece of Whisper White at 2 7/8 X 1 1/2 inches. Now lets put this all together.

I'm trying not to make the pictures large but you probably can't see it but I ran the the large piece of Crushed Curry through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder. I then scored this piece at 1 3/8 inches and 4 1/2 inches.

This is a picture of the card holder folded before I continued.

Next I took an A2 envelope from Stamping Up. They are so nice. I then sealed it closed in the back and cut it in half.

I used my snail adhesive and glued the two pieces of envelope together.

After I sealed them together, I put adhesive on one side of the envelope and placed it on the inside of the folder.
I then sealed the other side to the holder and now you can see what the card holder will look like once it is opened.

Next I took my strip of Tall Tales Designer Series Paper and attached it to the top flap of the holder.

Then I used adhesive to attach my small piece of Crushed Curry to the piece of Old Olive Cardstock.

I took my small piece of Whisper White Card Stock and stamped the little bird from the "Cheep Talk" stamp on it. I also stamped Happy Birthday from the new "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set.

I then attached the white stamped card stock to the piece of Crushed Curry.

I turned the old olive, crushed curry and stamped whisper white piece over and placed Stampin' Up! dimensionals on the back to attach it to the base holder.

The above picture shows the layer with the bird which was attached so that it could overlap the top flap. The picture also shows how when opened you can put a gift card, money, or a note inside.
If you would like to learn how to make this card holder in video format (I haven't gotten to that point yet), you may go to my upline Angie Kenney's website: http://www.chicnscratch.typepad.com/chicnscratchlive.
I hope you understood all the steps in this tutorial. Hopefully in the future my daughter will help me downsize it a bit.
Hugs,
Sharon
