Today's Share-Another Manhattan Flower Card

I just can't get enough of the Manhattan Flower Stamp and the Manhattan Impression's Die. Today I used a design by Terri from Nutzaboutstamping to make a couple of cards. I decided to do two in different colors.  One was made using Apricot Appeal card stock with the Manhattan Impression Die embossed in Whisper White card stock. The second one was made using Almost Amethyst card stock and embossed in Shimmery White card stock.  On the picture I can't see the shimmer.  Anyway, I think they would be nice as wedding cards.

Stay tuned because tomorrow, or should I say in a few hours, we will know which stamp sets, designer series paper and accessories that will be discontinued and will not appear in the new 2009-2010 catalog. I'll keep you posted.
Have a great evening,
Sharon

Mini Workshop

Yesterday, I had a mini-workshop where I introduced Stampin' Up! to two new ladies whom I
developed a friendship in no time at all. Thanks so much for the contacts "Tina". It's so wonderful that the love of card making, scrapbooking and paper crafts can bring people together. They were totally new to our craft and I spent time explaining to them how Stampin' Up! works and the benefits. I showed them my scrapbook room and they were very excited to get started. I showed them the basics but they caught on quickly. So quickly that they changed the card I demonstrated to a style all their own. They were pleased with the results and so was I. One thing that was so cute is after they had completed their cards I showed them how to use the glitter and glue pen. They immediately went back and put bling on their cards. Thanks ladies for allowing me to share my love of paper crafting with you. Their cards are posted above. Supplies used were: "Love You Much" stamp set, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, and Whisper White Cardstock, Candy Lane Designer Series Paper, Riding Hood Red Classic Ink and the Heart to Heart paper punch.
Until next time,
Hugs!!

Another Sympathy Card

I'm sorry to say this but another good friend and former co-worker lost her dad recently.  I can totally identify with her because she moved her dad into her home locally from 3 hours away so that she could take care of him in his final days. I was not able to move my dad here but I did travel the same 3 hrs back and forth on a weekly basis. It has been 2 years for me and I still miss my dad. I know my friend and co-worker will miss her dad too.

New Catalog Release Date July 1st

Stampin' Up! has decided to go back to a yearly catalog with 3 mini catalogs per year. I
like this concept because I think it will save us demos money in the long run. So the new
catalog will make it's debut on July 1st.  I'm so excited about this because I think I have
purchased all I need out of the present catalog. The only sneek peek we know of is the
Jumble Alphabet Set shown in a post below.  Stay tuned for more information.

National Scrapbooking Month Layout

As you all know, May is National Scrapbooking Month.  I had my monthly workshop on May 2nd. We made 2 cards and a 3-d card holder. Thank God for my fellow team member LisaLisa, who took pictures of our projects and posted them on her blog. Please hop over to her site here and see the cute things we made.  After the workshop she stayed behind and decided to make a layout because it was National Scrapbooking Day. I told her that I would make a layout but not then. I finally got around to doing one 12x12 layout. It is a picture of me and my sisters at a very special 89th surprise birthday party for my dad who passed away 3 months later.

O.K. Missing in Action-2

I apologize, This is my second missing in action post.  All I have to say is that being retired does not necessarily mean you don't have anything to do.  Nor does it mean that everything you need to do gets done. I have been extremely busy lately but I have made a promise to myself to keep this blog going and to let you guys know what I'm doing and what's new with Stampin' Up!
Please stay with me!
Hugs,
Sharon
