Happy Mardi Gras!!!

Today is Mardi Gras in South Louisiana.  Most people are out at the parades but I'm home trying to create.  The box and card I'm showcasing today were partially made with the Cricut machine. Yes I am an SU Demonstrator but I have too much money invested in the other items I use in scrapbooking to just move them to the side.  So I decided to incorporate them in my SU projects. My BF Lisa is Cricut's biggest fan. Although it's not my favorite cutter, I'm getting to like it more and more.  This is largely because of Lisa and the YouTube video's made by the Pink Stamper. Both are showing me neat new things I can do with this machine.  The box on the left was cut with the Cricut using the Bags, Tags and More cartridge in SU new Specialty Patterned Paper called Parisian Breeze. It is card stock weight and just fabulous.  The three flowers on the front of the box were cut using the new Simple Flower embosslits and the Big Shot.  I used three pearl gems colored with my Copic pens. The pearls were white and since my pens use alcohol inks, I was able to easily color them to match everything else.  I used SU white taffeta ribbon attached to each side as a handle. The front of the card in the picture was cut with the Cricut also. I used the Walk in my Garden cartridge to cut my tulip front. I embossed the front with SU's new texture plate and attached it to a piece of So Saffron card stock. If you would like more info on these two items just email me. Hugs!! Sharon

Movers & Shakers Curly Label Die

Honestly I can not take any credit for my card today.  It was totally cased. The only thing different is that I made it.  Here's the story:  I watch video's on YouTube every day.  I came across a video by Meg Loven at Lovenstamps.com. She demonstrated the new Movers & Shakers Curly Label Die from Stampin Up! on page 195 of the Spring and Summer Catalog. I loved her card but did not have the die.  At this time, it is a little expensive for me to purchase. Usually that doesn't stop me but I had to see if I could recreate this card without the Movers and Shakers die since we already have the curly label stamp and the punch. So I made this card exactly like Meg's.  I'm satisfied now that I do not have to hurry and purchase it since it is $39.95. Now if anyone wants to buy this die, I won't discourage you. The positive points about this die is that it cut and scores your cardstock exactly the size you need and the curly label cut is a bit larger so your curly label punch out can easily fit into the inside of the card. It also embosses the front of the card. I can live without these attributes for now but can you?
Hugs!!

Sale-A-Bration!!

Hi Guys! Sorry I'm so late posting about Stampin' Up!'s Sale-A-Bration which will continue through March 31st. What is Sale-A-Bration? From what I hear it's everyone's favorite time of the year.  If you spend $50.00 before shipping and taxes, you get to choose
either a free stamp set, ribbon bundle or designer series paper. If you hold a $300.00
workshop, you get to choose a free Sale-A-Bration item.  If you sign up as a demonstrator
during this time (through March 31st), you get a great deal in addition to the above. You can
purchase your Starter Kit for $169.00 instead of the regular $199.00 AND you get to choose
any stamp set in the current catalog with a value up to $47.95.  If you have any questions
about this please contact me at cailliersd(at)hotmail.com.

I wanted to wait and post about Sale-A-Bration so I could share with you some of the cute products in the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  The card shown here is made up of some of the items from the Sale-A-Bration catalog and some of the new items from the current Spring/Summer '09 catalog. I started out with a basic card background (Baja Breeze) from our In Colors line.
The patterned paper is the designer series paper from the Sale-A-Bration catalog called "Delicate Dots".  Isn't it cute?  The envelope attached to the card is one of our regular
colors and my favorite. It is cut from So Saffron card stock with our new Big Shot cutting machine and the "Scallop Envelope Die".  The bottom of the designer series paper on the card
is cut with our new "Eyelet Border Punch".  The flower to the left is stamped on the So Saffron Card Stock in our Baja Breeze color ink. This stamp is "Polka Dot Punches from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. It is connected to a 1 3/8 circle with one of our flower designer brads.  If you are interested in any of these items, please contact me.  A link to the Sale-A-Bration catalog in on the right.  Check it out.
Hugs, Sharon.

Have You Had Enough of the Candy Lane Paper?

It seems as though I'm trying to use it all up at one time.  Every time I decide to make something, I reach for the Candy Lane Designers Series Paper and the Riding Hood Red card stock.  Well since it's February I feel it's appropriate.  These two cards are for another one on one demo I have tomorrow or should I say in a few hours since it is almost midnight, with a new customer. She was given my business card by a friend of mine.  I have never met her but we talked a while on the phone.  I have no idea of her skill level. From members of my latenightstampers yahoo group, I found that if you don't know the skill level of a class participant prior to meeting them, you should start simple.   Well you can't get more simple than these two cards.  Don't they look familiar?
Hugs,
Sharon

I hope She Likes It!!!

My daughter is a big supporter of my Stampin' Up!! business. She loves it when I make cards for her or even show her the cards I've made for others. I know that I can depend on her to tell me whether it's beautiful or just o.k.  This card is the one I made for her in celebration of Valentine's Day.  I really hope she like it. When we (card markers) sends someone one of our hand stamped cards, they don't realize how much thought and love is put into it.  This card too was made with the Big Shot Top Note die, Cherry Lane, Red Riding Hood and Pink Piquoette card stock. Have a Happy Valentine's Day!!  Hugs!!

One on One

Today I did a one on one workshop with a fellow scrapbooker I met at one of our local scrapbook stores. We've taken a few classes together and when she found out I was selling Stampin' Up!,
she was interested. We had a great time even though it was just the two of us.  She made the 3x3 Hugs and Kisses Card from my previous post but we used the Scalloped Punch at the botton.
The 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 card was designed by me (it's about time).  Since it's February, I pretty much
stayed with the Love You Much Stamp Set and the Candy Lane Desinger Series Paper.
Our last project was a little treat holder made using the Top Note Die from our Big Shot line of Sizzix Dies.
